Position: Electrician (Internal/External Vacancy)
Location: Sefateng Chrome Mine, Limpopo
Approximately 90km East of Polokwane and 65km West of Burgersfort along the R37 route.
About the Company
Sefateng Chrome Mines PTY Ltd is a chrome ore producer operating in the Limpopo Province. Its underground mining operations, managed through MTC Underground Mining, are focused on safe, efficient, and sustainable production within a high-performance mining environment.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
- N4–N5 Certificate in Engineering Studies
- Valid Trade Test Certificate (Electrician)
- Minimum of 5 years operational experience
- Medium and High Voltage Switching Certificate
Knowledge & Technical Skills
Candidates should demonstrate strong competency in:
- Conveyor belt systems and fault diagnostics
- Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)
- Mine shaft electrical articulation
- Installation of mini-substations
- MV cable jointing and termination
- Switchgear load setting
- Stope winch and fan electrical connections
- Fault finding and troubleshooting in underground environments
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Rapid response to breakdowns and effective root cause analysis
- Ensuring safe production through proper maintenance of equipment
- Conducting inspections in line with the Mine Health and Safety Act
- Promoting a strong culture of “Zero Harm” in the workplace
- Maintaining compliance with company safety standards and procedures
