NSBE’s Position on the Draft IRP 2018: Addressing Socio-Economic and Energy Challenges

The National Society of Black Engineers South Africa (NSBE) has released its position on the Department of Energy’s Draft Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) 2018. NSBE emphasizes that the IRP must consider South Africa’s broader socio-economic challenges, such as youth unemployment, economic inequality, and the need for sustainable job creation. The organization advocates for the IRP to align with the National Development Plan (NDP) and calls for stronger BBBEE compliance and local manufacturing initiatives to support job creation and the development of black industrialists.
