Daniel Avutia

Daniel is a Chartered (UK) Professional (SA) Engineer with a decade of experience Energy, Infrastructure and Mining sectors. Daniel has fulfilled various leadership roles within Engineering fraternity namely Chairperson of African YGE Conference, African representative on the YMPG ISSMGE Executive committee and has filled various roles on the SAICE Geotechnical Division executive committee. Daniel has a Masters of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Cape Town and serves as an external examiner for Civil Engineer dissertations and also guest lecturers at the leading Universities on the Africa continent.
Daniel won the SAICE Young Engineer of the Year Award in South Africa in 2015, won the SANEA Energy Youth Leadership Award in 2018, won the National Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining Young Persons’ Lecture Competition representing Africa in Dublin, Ireland and was selected to represent Africa at the International Society for Rock Mechanics (ISRM) RockBowl competition in Montreal Canada in 2015. Daniel has presented at International and National Engineering conferences with technical publications on four continents.
